N.T. Vello
- Mr. Vello was called to the Bar in 1966. He has been in practice for 41 years and is now a Consultant. He graduated from the London School Of Economics where he finished his LL.B and then further continued his education in International Affairs. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Disciplinary Tribunal. Mr. Vello was also a Member of the Penang Bar Committee. Mr. Vello is also multilingual in which this ability sanctions close relations with Foreign Embassies.
- Mr. Vello’s résumé includes the representation of many important clients, both individual and business. The types of matters are varied, but all require personal attention and perseverance to expeditiously achieve the goals of the clients. Most of his litigation cases have successfully involved major law firms as opposition. He is a highly capable and experienced negotiator, and often the aspirations of the clients are achieved through considered and tenacious negotiation rather than litigation "warfare."
- In practice at the bar for more than 41 years, specializing in the field of commercial and maritime law. Has frequently advised upon and appeared in actions and arbitrations in contractual and tortuous matters including collisions, salvage, charter party disputes, damage to cargo claims, ship construction disputes, marine insurance claims. Has acted as legal counsel in many actions mostly in the maritime field, and recently in joint venture, construction and financial disputes. Mr. Vello has also appeared as leading counsel in the appellate and high courts with respect to Third Party Claims.
Ravin Vello
- Mr. Ravin Vello graduated from Bond University in 1998. He then further went on to obtain a Certificate in International Trade & Business Law and Information Technology Law where he specializes his practice on. He has particular skills and experience in assisting clients internationally and is responsible for keeping up to date with economic, business and legal developments in particular countries which are able to help overseas clients seeking to do business or invest in Malaysia as well as help Malaysian clients with interests offshore.
- Since becoming an associate in Vello & Associates, he has been intrinsically involved in civil litigation in the area of Insurance Law with respect to Vehicle Liability and Brain Injury.
- Mr. Ravin Vello also spearheads the Corporate Technology Law Division of Vello & Associates and which he concentrates his area of practice on. He focuses on issues relating to the law of electronic commerce, Information Technology Litigation and Corporate Information Technology especially in the area of The Law on Information Security : Liability of Directors on Information Systems. Vello & Associates also represents Multi-National Corporations and Small and Medium Enterprises in this particular area on an advisory basis. Mr. Ravin Vello is also the author is various articles which have been published internationally and in the local journals on Computer Forensics, Electronic Evidence and Litigation. He now currently sits on the Penang Bar Information Technology Sub-Committee.
Burhanul Mulk Manzurul Haq Shah
- Upon graduating from the University of Glamorgan in Wales, United Kingdom, Mr. Burhanul M.B. Shah completed his Malaysian Certificate in Legal Practice and thereafter joined Vello & Associates after being called to the Bar. He has been involved in both the litigation and conveyancing departments of the Firm for over five years. He work revolves around the general litigation area specifically in the field of Tort where he deals with issues pertaining to personal injury claims covering both plaintiff and defence work and also various other aspects of civil laws such as disputes or issues which are contractual and commercial in nature.
- Apart from litigation, he also juggles his practice in dealing and advising clients on conveyancing and corporate matters. He also has exposure and experience in dealing with and advising foreign embassies under the Firm’s clientele in respect of issues relating to Diplomatic and Consular Laws. He also assists in the Firm’s Information Technology Department and has attended seminars on the Laws of Electronic Commerce held regionally. He was also a member of the Penang Bar Library and Information Technology Sub-Committee.
Dr. Leslie Kenneth Khoo Chun Eong
- Dr. Kenneth Khoo has been practicing as an Advocate and Solicitor in the Estate Planning Department of Vello & Associates for the last five years. He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce (Monash), Bachelor of Laws (Monash), Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (Securities Institute of Australia), Masters of Finance with Distinction (RMIT University) and Doctor of Philosophy in Cognitive and Behavioral Finance (Preston). He is also the Secretary General of the SMI Association of Penang and sits on the Committee for Constitutional Change with the SMI Association of Malaysia.Apart from practicing laws, Dr. Khoo is an associate of CPA Australia and has worked as a financial analyst in Australia for two years. He is also the author of The Malaysian Legal Will Kit and heads the Wills, Estate Planning and Probate & Administration Department of Vello & Associates.
